A.2 Multiblock Configuration.

Multiblock Capable Slaves are configured into a Multiblock Group as part of the system initialization process by setting control bits in CSR space

A Multiblock Group shall consist of a Slave configured as a Primary Link, optional Slaves configured as Middle Links and a Slave configured as an End Link, all located within one Crate.

The Primary Link shall have the highest Geographical Address of the Group. The End Link shall have the lowest Geographical Address of the Group.

A Multiblock Group shall not be interleaved with any other devices which use the Daisy-Chain lines.

All slots between the Primary and End Links shall be occupied.

The Modules between the Links do not have to be Multiblock Capable because the FASTBUS specification requires that all modules propagate the Daisy-Chain signals.

Users should ensure that adjacent non-Multiblock devices which use the Daisy-Chain lines do not place incompatible signals on the external Daisy-Chain lines.
