The following terms are used in this document:
- Channel : One input. In this device each input channel is intended to be
driven by an 8-bit A/D converter, the data representing voltages from one
chamber wire.
- Bin : One element of the CCD. Each bin nominally corresponds to 2ns of
data from one channel.
- Pulse : A voltage pulse on the chamber wire, corresponding to the impact
of one charged particle.
- Cluster : A group of contiguous data bytes transferred to the output
buffer.
- FRC, FRD etc. : Short forms of names of simple FASTBUS transaction
routine calls, as defined in The FASTBUS specification IEEE Std 1177-1989.
