How the Schematics were created

The schematics were originally produced on a (currently obsolete) Daisy CAD system using the schematic editor ACE. An intermediate metafile was generated and then a colour HPGL file was produced, using a different pen for names, wires, components, etc. These were compressed to make the *.hpg.Z files.

The HPGL files were then converted using the in-house general drawing editor EDGR. The GIFs and thumbnail GIFs were generated using an experimental GIF output feature in EDGR. Since the thumbnails were generated from the line drawing directly, the lines are always at least one pixel wide. For this demostration, no effort was made to clean up the thumbnails by removing now-unreadable text, etc.

The PostScript files were generated from the EDGR drawings.
